Clear Springs Road - Russell County - Kentucky Friday_09-September-2022
Pond #1 (of three)
Working this farm is just like watching Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom through the windshield of the truck or tractor.
I couldn't count the Deer and Wild Turkey that I have seen; Coyotes, Ducks, Geese, Buzzards aplenty, Rabbits, a Possum, Squirrels, Birds of every description, and Dragonflies as big as helicopters.
I stood on the Seed Drill deck to be able to see over the fencerow; notice how much higher I am than the fence.
I did get down and pull the tractor forward a couple times.
The first pass I made by here, a whole herd of ducks took off from the water and flew over to the next pond back.
If I had a blind on the seed drill and just sat here quietly all day, it is untelling what all I might see.
I couldn't pick a winner, so here they all are.

I would say that it benefits immensely from the heavy amounts of Ammonia-Nitrate and Fertilizer that these surrounding fields get.
There are three of these ponds on this place; all about the same size; and, all purely captured runoff; there is no fresh running water coming into any of them.
They do stay pretty much full to the banks, a testament to how much rain we get.
If a person wanted to fish, it would take three weeks with a machete; else, have a crane set you, boat, fishing pole, and all, over in the water.
