Hi, all!
I'm an artist, and I've been making do with PSE 4 for quite some time (it came bundled with my Cintique). But lately it's been crashing like mad, and I've Googled and tried every fix that's out there. Maybe I just need to buy a newer version. Do you folks think that's the solution?

Hi Toonicorn, welcome to PSE&M! Glad to see you here.
This is a hard question. The reasons for Elements to crash are many; there is no guarantee that you will get a new version and that it won't begin crashing on you. I am assuming that you already tried the usual suggestions -- deleting the Preferences file; improving Elements performance (history stages, RAM, etc.), running this program as Administrator (if applicable), etc. The best suggestion I can offer is that you download a 30-day free trial of Elements 13 and test the waters. Just make sure your computer meets the minimum requirements.
www.adobe.com/downloads.html?PID=3747368 You can check the system requirements for Elements 13 in this Adobe document.

Hope this helps!

I am glad you found us and find this forum a place to call home. You have already tried fixes for your problems, but perhaps there is something that can be done. However, I have to say that the advances in PSE since then have been so profound that it is hard for me to imagine that you would not be GREATLY impressed with any version since 9. The latest version (13) is available on Amazon for $55 or so. Anyway, welcome again, and I hope to see you around!
