How many deer do you see ? Pretty sure there are two in the bottom photo. Not sure about the top. Fun photos.

At least two. Of course in this instance, the first deer is quite obvious, but that is not always the case.
Look for an ear, an eye, or a nose; as, in most cases, the deer is aware of your presence long before you are close enough to see them, so they will be watching you with their head turned toward you and their ears up and listening.
A lot of horses are far more alert than deer and will have a deer spotted long before the deer is aware of the horse; I have seen many deer by paying attention to Henry.

Yes they do; that closest deer was a lot harder to see in person than she is in the photo.
