After months and months of admiring the pages created by our master scrapbookers here, I decided to bite the bullet and make my first attempt. It was prompted by a browse through my archives, where I realized I had a bit of a theme/story with my 'off the beaten path' photos. I realize there are many things I could have changed, improved, etc., but if I hadn't stopped where I did, I would NEVER have finished it!!!

Ahhhh....this is how it starts, Vicki. Good for you and quite impressive for a first try. Your background was a great choice for your title.

I like the theme for your page and the composition too. The faded photo for the background image works well and the other images compliment it. The offset partial frame encapsulates the page nicely. Very well done Vicki. I hope this has given you a bit of a taste for scrapbooking...no pressure though...LOL.

Thanks, Helen.
Also thanks, Lillias. Your evaluation of the page, the composition, and the frame really helps me know what worked here. No pressure here, ROFL...just something to try again when I'm inspired!!!

Well Vicki - welcome to your new hobby because once you start... I realize there are many things I could have changed, improved, etc., but if I hadn't stopped where I did, I would NEVER have finished it!!! Amen to that. No matter how long you scrap, this is a never ending problem. Another caution - don't do things to please others. If you are happy with your design, then it's perfect. The only person you need to please is yourself. I do like your first scrapbook page - and for all the reasons Lillias already stated. Plus you've used my favorite page (and photo) framing technique. The double offset lines. Whenever I feel something 'more' is needed, I fall back on that technique. Remember, you can offset text, too. Use two colors of the same text and offset one. It provides dimension and color. BTW - you are already a step ahead of my first pages. I put soft edge photos on plain white background - with a little text. I did a whole book of those pages
