In doing the exercise to choose my two best photos for 2022, I got to wondering what I wanted to achieve in 2023?
Now that I have moved from Vancouver Island to deep in the Kootenays, so that I am now a REAL canadian again, my goal will be to seek out and explore snow subjects and landscapes. In the summer, I am hoping to head into the Rocky Mountains and find new subjects/landscapes there. (...oh yeah, hopefully I won't get eaten by a bear.....)
What will your goals be?

Another good topic, Pat. I look forward to seeing your landscapes from the beautiful Rocky Mountains.
A recurring goal for me is to spend more time watching the various videos that I have bookmarked to help me improve my editing skills.

To finally get somewhere to take photos. It’s been a lean 3 years - and to finally learn how to better use an iPhone camera since I’ve pretty much shelved the “real” camera.
That is - if you can call a point and shoot used on automatic - a “real camera” 🤪

Now that I have moved from Vancouver Island to deep in the Kootenays, so that I am now a REAL Canadian again HA HA HA! Good one Pat! After last week you might be regretting that move. Good question, Pat. I always lust for better photos of some subjects and simply to get photos of things new to me. Better? Aurora and STEVE Golden-crowned kinglet Grizzly bear Whiteface ibis in spring when their colors are special A good (I mean really good) flying bald eagle photo. A good (I mean really good) flying snowy owl photo. Good, close shot of a pronghorn antelope Rattlesnake photos. Have a new photographer friend who knows where there are good sites nearby. Sun halo photo More cloud photos. Just any cool clouds like meso-cyclones (they can turn nasty), better asperatus clouds (way cool); just any cool clouds. Better photos of "light" .. you will either get this or not. There is light and then there is LIGHT. An elk bugling in cold weather with steam coming out of its mouth New? One of our wild cats such as bobcat or lynx...getting a cougar photo would be unreal. The problem is that I do not venture far into areas where they tend to be. Like Pat, I am not keen on getting "et" by a bear. Anything new to me that is outdoors: scenery, critters....
