I'm a complete newbie that just bought PSE13-64bit and I have it installed on my Win8-64bit OS. I have a ton of 32bit plugin filter files (*.8bf) and when I drop them in the PSE13 plugin folder, they never show up in the Filter> section within the PSE13-64bit software. Please help me figure all this out. Details on how would really help me. Thanks

Hi jimcornetet, welcome to PSE&M!
32-bit plug-ins are not compatible with 64-bit host applications, in this case, with Elements 13. You need to go back to the websites where you got your plug-ins and see if they have a 64-bit version.

Do you know of a website that lists 64bit plugins as freeware?

Websites usually don't list their plug-ins according to 64- or 32-bit. You just have to read the description of the plug-ins you are interested in. You may want to check this thread. There are some links to free plug-ins.

I have just thought of something. Do you still have an earlier version of Elements? Each version is an independent one; you can have multiple versions installed on the same computer. You could then install the 32-bit plug-ins in this version.

I guess I might hang out on eBay to see if I can get a good price on PSE12. I find it very very strange Adobe would constrain PSE13 users to the following builtin rules: 1) only 64bit PSE13 software can be installed on a 64bit OS. Adobe will NOT allow a 32bit PSE13 to be installed on a 64bit OS via ProgramFiles (x486) 2) *.8BF files will not work nor be visible in PSE13-64bit software I'm very disappointed Adobe is constricting PSE13. Why do they do this? ??
