Hi
I have windows 7 with Service Pack 1 installed, updates are installed each evening
EG. Security Update for Windows 7 (KB3011780) Installation date: 02/11/2016 20:06 Installation status: Successful Update type: Important
The error message only stops the installation of this piece of Adobe software, all other pieces of Adobe software e.g. Photoshop Elements install successfully as does software from other manufacturers.
The machine is both virus and malware free having real time virus protection and regular sweeps with malware detection software, use of cc-cleaner and performance managing software.

Hi
Have attempted but it always seems to take me round in a circle back to their pre-written technical forum.

Thanks for the information on the LR support group I'll certainly look into that.
Areas that have been tried:
- running Windows sfc /scannow (Won't run in either normal or safe mode, option here may be a complete reload of windows but the appropriate disk currently has insufficient space for the 9gb a reload requires as a minimum) - complete virus and malware checking of the PC using two different virus checkers and Microsoft and Malwarebytes malware checkers (the Microsoft one was a complete file by file check and took over 24 hours revealing a clean machine),
- all the different routes to fix the problem suggested on the Adobe technical support forums
- the routes suggested by helpful people on the Adobe down load and installation forums
- Microsoft Standalone Windows Update,
- msrepair.reg,
- search of You tube for visual repairs, however going this way and one other forums wary when recommended to download 'unknown' software that sates it will fix the problem, and end up with a malware or virus infected machine.
So many different approaches to try to fix the issue, as yet non worked.
Thanks in advance

I recently purchased a download copy of Lightroom 5.7.1 and have tried to load it on several occasions and each time I have encountered error 0x80073712. I have worked through a number of different forums (including Adobe's) looking for and trying various solutions to this error with no success. Any other software I install be it from a download or from a disk installs successfully, this includes other Adobe products (having also recently re-installed PSE 14 to correct an error that developed through the Nik collection plug-in with no problem at all). I have grown increasingly frustrated in trying to work out why this one Adobe product, obtained via download, will not successfully install.
Has any one else encounter this error on installation, and more importantly from my perspective, what steps did you take to successfully load the software?
Thanks in advance.
