Time for another RAW Challenge. This one is sure to get your creative juices flowing........have fun. I look forward to seeing your vision for this image. In the photographer's own words: "One of the first things I saw upon arriving at this location was this lovely gazebo nestled among the foliage. I took a number of photos, but they all needed work, so I'm sharing this to see what all our creative members can do with it...both basic edits and then creative ones." 1. Participants in the challenge may provide a screenshot of their edits within the RAW converter of their choice along with the reasons for their edits. 2. Following their initial edits members may use whatever “tools" they wish to create an image that portrays their artistic vision for the imageas long as the character of the original image is not lost. You may not add anything to the image that wasn’t already there. 3. Including information on plug-ins, actions, external editors, textures, sky replacements etc that were used will only help to inform members of some of the creative options that are available to today’s photographer. 4. Including layer stacks may be something to consider when presenting a final edit. Comments are restricted to complimenting another member's edits. You have until Thursday April 27th to submit your edits. The photographer will then choose three favorite renditions. This is a screenshot of the image we will be working on..... Download the RAW image here. Download top left corner.

Well it didn't take you long to come up with a beautiful edit for this challenge, Frank. You really need to click on Frank's image to see the full effect. Great start to this challenge!

I have included my RAW settings and then back in PSE - From the Filters Brush Strokes, I applied the Accented Edges. I liked the softness I thought my RAW settings provided and I like the light that the Accented Edges provided. I have not cropped it thus far. I find it such a nice pleasant image it seems a shame to crop it at all.

Another beautiful edit.....thank you, Lillias. The "softness" you mention seems to emphasize the peaceful quality of the image.

Fotofrank and Lillias have done outstanding edits on this photograph. The mood is completely changed, and it looks like a fairyland. Nice job!

Building on my previous edit I took that result into the Smart Photo Editor and applied the Van Gogh colours - green fields filter by Tony. I also applied one of Jodi’s Frames.

It is interesting to see the variety of colors your editing choices have produced, Pete. Your cropping choice brings us up close to the subject of the image.

I started by running it through Topaz Photo AI to remove the noise that was noticeable especially on the gazebo. Rest was done in Lightroom, cropping to put more emphasis on the gazebo and using a radial mask over the gazebo to lighten it up. I did find the colors a bit too cold so warmed things up with white balance adjustments and some colour grading. Finished up with a vignette. Certainly a good scene to work on with many possible approaches. Tony

And one with a tighter crop and the chair removed (not very well!): Tony

Tony....nice edit. And I didn't even notice any noise in the image....but I guess with the high ISO there probably was some. The second submission does leave no doubt as to the subject....and I think you did a good job with the chair removal. So between the noise reference and the chair you are making me think I may need to get my eyes checked!
