A second edit. Opened in DxO PureRaw and then moved to ACR. In PSE, a severe crop and also diffused and darkened the background. In Color Efex applied the remove color cast filter and also added contrast filters.

Nice close-up crop, Pete. Darkening and diffusing the background has made the gazebo really stand out.

My first artsy try......used a modified Turner Sunset preset from Topaz Impression 1. Layered over my original edit. Duplicated and lightened it about 25% and then masked in the parts that I wanted to remain darker. Cropped a bit off the bottom.

One more try - I even tried adding an effect from the past - I got Topaz Simplify working again and used the BuzSim preset! Tony

I especially like the way you have made the gazebo and the white flowers the focus of the image. It has a dream-like quality and I like it a lot. I think this image is a perfect choice for creative edits and don't want anyone to feel like they have to limit their number of submission. So keep 'em coming.....

For this one I used my first basic edit. I then used the magic wand to select a brown sample and similar from the image and duplicated that to a layer on its own and applied the simple emboss bevel to give a more obvious texture to the image. I cropped to the finished result. Oh and I added a slight tint of blue to the sky.

That's an interesting approach to this image, Lillias. It gives it a dimensional look.

Using my original edit applied a liquid pencil filter from Topaz Impression. Selected the gazebo area and raised off the background which I then blurred.

Beautiful Helen. That one has a wall with a picture hanger on it somewhere crying "Choose this location. Please!"

Here's my final attempt to produce an edit that includes more variety in colors and depth of this fine subject: Cropped to bring gazebo closer and more prominent in the frame Opened in PS 2023, used Topaz Denoise AI plugin, then ran a Foliage Pop Action Opened stamped layer in latest PS Beta, deleted chair using new object removal tool Returned to PS 2023 and applied neural depth filter so gazebo is at sharpest depth Applied NIK HDRPro Filter to adjust general brightness and contrast Removed enough white blossoms behind so gazebo dome top can be clearly seen Applied NIK CEPro5 Soft Landscape Filter, ending with a radial gradient vignette

What a lush landscape you have created here, Pete. I especially like the way you have brought out the gazebo. I agree with you, it has been a wonderful image for this challenge and has allowed for a range of creative approaches.
That being said I would like to invite all members to consider submitting an image for our next RAW Challenge which will be June 24th.

Wow--this was NOT easy! There are so many great edits and each of them has features to praise! First, let me say that I find it difficult to crop my images more than just a little. The really brutal cropping that was done here may have changed my mind--they transformed the image and improved it to a great degree!!! Love what you all did with this photo!
1. Basic Edit: fotofrank. Frank, first off…it really did need cropping. The bit of roadway I captured at the bottom needed to go! You kept the placement of the gazebo where it was intended and made it stand out more with your edits. Great job applying basic edits and a great place to start with the creative ones. 2. Basic Edit: Lillias. Lillias, you brightened up the image, almost more than anyone else. It’s a nice contrast to the darker images and makes it feel like spring (which it was!). Thanks for the compliment that prevented you from cropping it, but it does need to be cropped, at least a tad off the bottom. Another great basis for continuing on with a lovely creative image--and you did! 3. Creative Edit: Pete61. Pete, you’ve transformed the garden here to be reminiscent of a jungle! The edits you applied were very effective and the crop is perfect! The gazebo is placed exactly on the thirds lines. You make me want to go back to the location and see what I missed!!! 4. Special – Honorable Mention: tonyw. Tony, your Firefly AI version of the image is just stunning! I tried and couldn’t get anything nearly as good as yours! Well done!
Thank you, everyone, for playing along with this RAW challenge.

I can understand why you were having a hard time choosing your top edits, VickiD . The submissions were each special and thoughtfully executed by our members. Loved reading the reasons for your selections. Congratulations to fotofrank , Lillias , pete61 and tonyw . Beautiful work! And thanks for letting us "play" with your image, Vicki. It was fun to work with and is a beautiful capture.
