Great job on changing the car colors, Mart. Another "outside the box" edit.

I tried to change the cars around to start with but that didn't work out all that well because of the angle of the shot, so changed the colour instead using masks and tints. I still keep falling back to using Xara Designer because I know it so well and can get it to do this kind of thing.

I like the new colors - you really know that software. You cannot tell you edited the photo.

mart44......looking back at your submissions I see you haven't mentioned the program you used to open the RAW image. Did you use PE or another program? Sharing where you began your editing process is the first step in this challenge.

I used Xara Photo & Graphic Designer from the start. I imagined the hamburger sign as being an advertising poster stuck onto a back-board. I carved out the area using a mask. This left a hole in the photograph. A textured background was put behind the hole to provide a board for the hamburger poster to be pasted onto. Two page curls were applied to the carved-out poster. It was then placed in its original position. The result is the effect of the peeling poster.

Thanks for the quick reply and the explanation of your creative vision for the image, Mart. Being new to the challenge, I can understand how you missed sharing that first step. You are using a program that appears to be new to many of us so it is interesting to see how you use it.

I can get used to saying how things are done. Other places haven't been interested in that aspect, only in seeing and commenting on an end result. As long this rather different program has a place here? I've been so much interested in vector programs and then Xara Photo & Graphic Designer (mixes up vector and bitmap processes) over the years that I'm not sure I can do things very differently.

mart44 , the RAW challenge is the only one that asks you to include how you began processing the RAW file in your initial post. After that members present their creative interpretations as explained in the introductory post to the challenge. For other challenges it is up to you if you want to add how you created your image; or someone may ask you to share. Our forum is called Photoshop Elements & More. There is no restriction on what you use as long as it doesn’t violate copyright terms. Some challenges will post directions using PE. You may want to try some of them as a way of familiarizing yourself with what can be achieved with your version of PE. Those challenges have helped many of us get more comfortable with PE.

I especially like the change in depth of field and the pink for the thunderbird, Frank.

Here is a black and white vintage version using Nik Silver Efex pro2. After the basic raw editing, imported into Silver Efex and used preset 33 (Yellowed 1) which comes with a border. Then reduced the contrast in the Silver Efex panel to about 35 which also emphasised grain, and added Sepia toning No.21. Kind regards Chris

I have not heard from the photographer for this challenge. As we will have a new Creative Effects Challenge starting tomorrow, I just want to thank everyone who participated. You certainly came up with a variety of edits...and some unexpected ones for sure. I hope you had fun and will consider submitting an image for the next RAW Challenge which will be in November.
