I appreciate this forum very much. I think that the administrators, moderators and contributors are creating a great and friendly environment. This results not only from what they do, but also from how they do it. Congratulations! and many thanks. A few thoughts:
- I like the way topics are divided and organized. Even if some topics are less popular than others, it is a good thing that they exist. On the long run it makes the forum a more valuable source of information since it can be searched and consulted more easily. It also helps people to choose the conversations they are more interested in. - I like the variety of people, interests and experience found here. - I like the new posts and latest gallery posts links. - It could make sense if the galleries would be presented from the most recent to the oldest post order. - Challenges are great to have, interesting to visit and must be fun to do. By lack of time and most probably spontaneous inspiration, I did not participate, yet. I would leave it more to the participants and organizers to comment on the challenges. All I can say for now is that it would not change my attendance or participation if some challenges would have to become less frequent, for instance every two weeks instead of every week. Some people like daily or monthly challenges too. I guess there are no absolute rules regarding the frequency.
It started well. If it continues the same way, the future looks good! Thanks again.

I logon each day if I can. When I first heard the old site was going away I was saddened as I really enjoy this forum. Thanks to all who have made it a success. I don't feel we are getting enough new members or questions. This is probably a search engine problem which I know nothing about. One other item is that the multi page(prev/next) is at the top of the page and should be at the bottom.
Other that this small problem, and of course the New Posts should only be New Posts(I know you don't have control of this) and the need to get search engines to show us I feel we are doing well and hope to keep growing.

This site is as helpful as the old site and the moderators do a wonderful job! Thank you! ...having said that, I have two items: -when my computer crashed and I had to have it set up from scratch, I lost my bookmarks on Chrome, including this site. When I did a search using "photoshop elements" or some combination of those words, this site did not show up on my search results (...at least on the first or second page). I ended up going back to the old elements site which showed the name of this site and I was able to find PS&E again. It is now safely nestled in among my bookmarks! ....my point is that I knew this site existed, but for someone who had no knowledge and who had an editing question, they would not have been directed here. -I really miss the old gallery in the old elements where the photos were thumbnails and you could see quite a few at once on a page. [having said that, I just LOVE how you can bring in a better quality image than the old site.....so maybe it's a tradeoff] I found this site purely by chance. Trying to get help re my Elements problem, I did a Google search, and this address was one which came up. Clicking on that link, must rate as one of the best things I have ever done on line. I have used general forums which had photography and art sections previously. But they did not specialize. Like cats4jan, I am point and shoot. Although I do love taking photos. And I am in my element when attempting manipulation. I am now considering upgrading to a newer version of Elements, but still can't decide whether it is worth it for what I do. I would learn what people are discussing though. You have a fantastic home here. I am so pleased I found you. You are doing a great job. Thank you. The only problem I have come across so far, is putting pictures here. The only way I can do it, is by sending a picture to Photo Bucket, getting a url for it, then putting that address here. Or am I doing it the hard way?

Thanks for the kinds words, whippet.
As for uploading photos, you should take a look at our FAQs section. There are 5 or 6 items dealing with different methods. Look for threads whose titles start with "Photo sharing".

....yeah! I'm glad Whippet posted about finding this site! I must have being having some senior moments when I tried my search. This site is such a valuable resource for everything from "how-to's" to the latest downloads from Topaz, OnOne, etc.

I think the forum has come along well and the moderators are doing a good job running things smoothly. I agree about the Gallery posts and the order they are presented; sometimes I forget how to do something, but I find the answer pretty quick, so that's a plus. The best part this forum brings is the members; always helpful and friendly!!!

Wish there was a method of feeds. Not sure what it is called but a service "feedly" or some other type would list the posts. It was a quick way to see what was happening.

I visit daily - sometimes more than once - but really only read the threads in the Editor and Organiser forums. I've read lots of helpful hints and tips - just need to remember them now! I enjoyed the old site and find that this one is an excellent replacement. Whenever I have a problem someone always helps and never makes me feel that I've asked a stupid question so, as far as I'm concerned, there is nothing here that needs improving.
Thanks so much for offering such an excellent resource.

Thank you everyone who was responsible for finding us a new home. When our other forum died, I was heartbroken and knew I would miss it and the people who seemed like friends even though I never met them. I was not as happy with this forum at first, but now that I am getting better at getting around in here I am liking it better. I like the fact we can post as many pictures as we want and whatever size we want. I miss posting a picture and then getting an email with comments about it, I always looked forward to that. (Am I a compliment junkie!!) I also miss the galleries being in some kind of order, like ABC. Now if If I do not post a pic in several days my gallery disappears down to the bottom. Maybe I am not doing it correctly, like using search. All and all I am so happy we have a new home and cannot thank the people enough who made it possible !!!

Oh and I forgot I miss Be Creative. But, of course, that took a lot of work for some people to find and post new ideas for us.

Like many others, i was saddened when our old Village closed but love our new home. Many thanks to everyone who put in so much hard to get this forum up and running, and keeping it going.
I visit the site most days and love seeing all the fantastic photos and digital creations. With helping my husband running his business and looking after our home and garden I never seem to have enough time to get involved in trying the different techniques, play with textures, twirls etc but have many of the articles and posts bookmarked.
This forum is one of the friendliest I have ever visited and I know if I ever get stuck and need advice or help, there is always someone to offer assistance, even to beginners like me.

I just want to say that I very much appreciate that you guys made us a home for Elements information after the demise of the most wonderful old Elements Village.
As for what would make this site better for me, the feature may already be here and I just have not discovered it; a "subscribe to thread with instant e-mail alerts" feature would be most appreciated.
Also, and this may very well be a problem that is unique to me, this site and my computer/system just do not like one another.
I have Windows 7 using IE.
This is the only forum site of many that I visit where it is a constant fight just to make a simple post or even change pages.
I will be typing away and then notice that maybe half of the middle of an entire sentence has just disappeared.
It takes forever for pages to respond and I constantly get message pop-ups saying "website is not responding due to a long running script"
The text of the site itself will load and show up and then a couple minutes later the ad banners will finally show up; in the mean time, I can do nothing except wait.
If I could get the site to respond even half as quickly as everything else does and be dependable, I would be very happy; what puzzles me is that no other site I visit gives me these problems.
All that being said and beside the point, I am very grateful to have this place to come to for answers and help in solving the many photo doctoring situations I come upon.
I know I am probably the number one question asker on here and I really do appreciate the quick, thorough, and accurate responses I get to my queries.
Thanks for making this available.

BuckSkin, I have the same problems with IE, sloooow loading, waiting for the ads to show up and not being able to change pages, open threads or scrolling until they do. I solved the problem, after trying just about everything else, by installing Firefox, which I use for this site almost exclusively. Works perfectly.

Thank you, ritage (Rita), for answering my question before I had to ask it.
Actually, as I was typing that post, the thought occurred to me that maybe a different browser might be the cure.
Thank you for confirming that Firefox will probably solve the problem.
Now, I just need to dig into my big thick Windows 7 for Dummies book and re-read the section on installing a different browser.
I did have FireFox installed on a different computer, alongside IE, with icons on the task-bar that allowed me to choose whichever I preferred; but that desk-top suffers from a situation where it refuses to acknowledge the mouse and keyboard, so it sits collecting dust.
Thanks for your input.
