If you were thinking about getting Impression, this is a good offer. Be sure to check system requirements and I would suggest you download a trial before purchasing to make sure it runs well on your computer. Offer ends July 7th. www.topazlabs.com/impression

Follow-up. I installed version 2. There are more options as far as controlling the brushes etc. but I find the presets are not as refined as they were in version 1. Perhaps, I will need to work it some more but my first impression of Impression 2 is that I prefer Impression 1 without all the bells and whistles butwith more refined presets. Will continue to explore this and let you know what i'm finding. Has anyone else tried it? Here is an example of the same picture and the same preset using both versions. Not sure if you will be able to notice the difference at this size: Impression 1 Oil Painting II Preset Impression 2 Oil Painting II Preset

Interesting Helen as I didn't know there was a version 2 of Impression. My version is 1.1.2.
I clicked on both photos to open them up as bigger images so that I could have a good perusal of them. There are certainly differences between the presets in the two versions. I am with you in that I prefer version 1 - I think it looks more impressionist. I also showed it to a friend and she also preferred the version 1 look. Others might have different thoughts about it.
By the way, how does one go about downloading version 2? Will it replace version 1 or does it get installed separately? If it replaces version 1 I might not bother.

By the way, how does one go about downloading version 2? Will it replace version 1 or does it get installed separately? You will find the download link on the Product Downloads page -- www.topazlabs.com/downloads -- or, if you get an e-mail from Topaz Labs, it will contain the download link.
Impression 2 will not replace the previous version. When you go to Filter>Topaz Labs, both versions will be listed.

My installation on WIN 7 64-bit does not work and I looked at the Community Forum where quite a few people report the same problem. They say they are working on a new Installer.

I had no problems installing this plug-in on Windows 7 64-bit; the installer installed it in Photoshop CC and in Elements (several versions). However, Norton Internet Security got all excited. I had to tell it to let me run this plug-in anyway.

Sepiana, I had the same interference from NIS, thought it was going to go ballistic. So I first thought I'd turn it off and try again, but none of the people on the Topaz forum mentioned it. I think I'll just wait and see what Topaz comes up with.

I have an interesting dilemma. When I bring an image into v2 through PSE and render it with one of the presets it doesn't get saved back to PSE after clicking the ok button. All I get is a black layer in PSE. I have tried several images and various presets, all to no avail. I don't have this issue with v1. Is anyone else having this problem?

Sorry, I use PSCC so can't answer your question. You may want to contact Topaz support as they are great at responding. I will hunt around and see if anyone else has commented on this in my FB groups.

A lot of people are reporting it working slowly. I did try it in PE11 and didn't have a problem saving my image. The system requirements have been updated.

I do remember something similar happening with one of my Topaz plug-ins. The culprit was not Elements (or Photoshop for that matter). A Topaz tech accessed my computer remotely and discovered it was a corrupted Topaz file. He replaced it and the problem was solved.

Since I reported my problem there has already been an update to v2.0.1. My original issue was resolved by opening PSE and Impression with the PC's dedicated GPU rather than the onboard graphics. For me though it still runs very sluggishly compared to v1. For the same given presets in the two versions I prefer the rendering results in v1.
