Hi everyone,
Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo this week that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread. This challenge is all about getting you out there (or inside) with your camera and shooting something you perhaps wouldn't normally photograph. Have some fun experimenting!
The rules are simple.
Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. Your photo(s) should be taken during the week of the theme. You are allowed to do some photoshopping.
NOTE:
Yes, let’s go wide (but not wild) this week! You know the drill -- wider open aperture, shallow depth of field, crystal clear focus on part of your subject, the rest of it out of focus.

Does an 8mm lens qualify as wide?

Frank,
Yes, I believe it does. A beautiful and colorful variation of this theme. Great thinking out of the box!
I am curious. Daylight? At this time? It is pretty dark here where I am (CST).

As the theme is this week, and the image was taken on Sunday the start of the week - it just happened to fit.

Great theme for this week and something I need to practice. Here's my first try. 50mm lens f1.6

Helen,
I sincerely doubt you need practice. Don't underestimate yourself. You nailed it!

Had a try. All I managed was the out of focus. The picture is a cyclist - made out of plants.

whippet,
Glad you tried. You got the idea and did it well. As I said in my OP -- "crystal clear focus on part of your subject, the rest of it out of focus".
Which aperture setting did you use?

This started out as one flower among a sea of flowers taken with my Fuji with the 27mm f2.8 lens but I then was watching a webinar on Topaz Texture 2 today and it got modified so here's what I have so far - still learning!

One more - another version of wide taken with my 8mm Fish-Eye also at f2.8. Used the Lens Correction profile in Lightroom to correct the distortion - almost got it right but not quite! Tony

Next weeks will be a more detailed than this weeks but I will have to catch up on it later. Still not sure I'll get much use from TT2 but it is fun to play with. Tony

This is simply beautiful. It is the kind of wide aperture, the kind of blurry background I see in my dreams. Frame this image and hang it on the wall!

WOW! I love it! This was the perfect subject for a Fisheye lens.
