Yes you can't in the organizer and for the following reason: the interface is not only based on the tastes of the majority of users, it's optimized for a different job than the editing process, where a dark background makes colors 'pop' and your eyes don't get strained by the atrocious excess of luminosity delivered by all displays in factory mode. Whether you like it or not, the present choice for the organizer requires both a calibrated monitor and correct viewing conditions. Then, the texts are very comfortable to read, and you are able to distinguish the subtle shades of light gray which differentiate thumbnails: normal, stack/version set and selected items. Very important for hours of comfortable work in the organizer. Many users don't even notice the differences of grey shades and see 'white' background. That's a sure sign that the display is not calibrated or/and the lighting conditions are bad. Michel,
Thanks for this extra information! I have a new monitor and, yes, I can see all those differences of gray shades. Now I know the reason why they are there.

Was there anything "dropped" from 14 to 15? That has happened before and was just wondering if it happened this time. ~bruce.

Was there anything "dropped" from 14 to 15? That has happened before and was just wondering if it happened this time. ~bruce. I have not found 'dropped' features for the moment, but PSE15 is quite new... My view on the evolution of Elements is that version 15 has undergone a huge amount of work, with a lot of new features for 'modern' users, typically automatic features and touchscreen support. I don't mind that, if others are happy, that's good for the future of Elements. For old style photographers like me, it's important to keep the essential parts of the software and to avoid the bugs resulting from the introduction of questionable new features. It seems that for users like me, Adobe has chosen to be extremely scarce in new serious features (like supporting layer groups) to avoid any competition with Lightroom and Photoshop CC; to compensate, this time, nothing important seems dropped, and changes in the interface are minimal. It seems that a number of bugs and deficiencies have been solved, for instance the photomerge panorama feature. Since Adobe will not publish the list of solved bugs, it would be useful if our forum members did report their findings. The one novelty which I like very much is the 'Instant Fix' in the organizer. Useful for batch corrections or mixed jpegs and raws with a good interface, and not only for touchsreens. The slideshow feature is still too basic. The Photobook feature could be acceptable, but it systematically crashes the Organizer on my PC...

Michel, I noticed the same thing. I'd rather see some new "serious features" than those "fun features". For example, it would have been great if Elements 15 had the ability to convert for Smart Filters.

I think that for such advanced features, you'll always need to use third-party add-ons. By the way, I just checked that Elements+ for PSE15 is ready with new features for smart objects.

That's another good reason to also keep your preferred old version on your computer.

I am I'm interested in seeing how the Touch-friendly mode will work on my laptop. It appears to be limited to Quick Edit only, but I'm still interested.
Me too! I haven't tested the "touch-friendly" waters yet but it is in my list of things to do (learn?).
Andy, I have just found out that the touch-friendly mode is also available in the Organizer. Not bad! It is kind of fun really!

Hi Again,
Still playing around with PSE 15 trial version and enjoying it. Here's my question, on PSE 9 I could see a Properties tab for my image by right clicking and selecting it from a pop-up menu. I can't replicate this with PSE 15. Can someone please tell me how to see the properties info on an image.
Thanks again for your time and patience.

Thank you Michelb and Sepiana for saving me once again. I have been using PSE 9 for so long it's like breathing. You don't think about it, you just do it. I have a bit of a learning curve challenge ahead.
Appreciate your help.
