Hi everyone,
Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo this week that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread. This challenge is all about getting you out there (or inside) with your camera and shooting something you perhaps wouldn't normally photograph. Have some fun experimenting!
The rules are simple.
Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. Your photo(s) should be taken during the week of the theme. You are allowed to do some photoshopping.
NOTE:
The idea behind this week’s challenge is that, when you compose your shot, you include a foreground object which will frame your subject, i.e., which will help highlight it and draw our attention to it.

Great theme Sepiana - now that I am back from 7 weeks in Europe I am anxious to get back in the saddle so to speak. I will take my camera out with me tomorrow and see if I can come up with something

Thanks Sepiana ... fun theme for Halloween! Bill, what a shot! You do "see" as a photographer -- the framing created by the swing. I love how you kept the swing out of focus; it really draws our eyes into the image.

A little Infrared with a frame. Frank, this is simply beautiful! I love the infrared effect. Great job!
Pardon my ignorance! This is a lame question. How did you manage to incorporate the frame into your composition?

Thank you for the very kind words Sepiana. I gave the swing a little push because I wanted to give it a little Halloween edge. Had someone been swinging and suddenly left? Was the swing moving on it's own?? Anyway, thanks for your theme idea ... it generated the shot. And Frank ... that's terrific!

I didn't see the swing framing until it was pointed out. My eye went straight to the front door. Amazing what one misses.

Pardon my ignorance! This is a lame question. How did you manage to incorporate the frame into your composition? If you go to the Pond House at Elizabeth Park and walk around the building to the north side, you will find it. I believe the owner placed it for photographers to do wedding photo ops. So, no I didn't carry a frame with me to take the image. The Image was taken with color enhanced infrared converted camera with a custom setting for White Balance and Picture Style. The post processing is channel swapping, and Hue and Saturation in Photoshop.

Thanks for the perfect subject, Sepiana. I had a great excuse to visit one of my favourite places, and take the pictures I love doing, today.

What look like blank spaces on the background of the above picture - are not. I took this picture 10 years ago from the opposite side of the same bridge. Unfortunately, this time I couldn't get far enough back to get the whole shape in. Only the top part.

That was a great idea on the owner's part. Glad you put that frame to good use; it was perfect for this theme.
