I got these two shots of bygone bridges on Boca Grande, Florida. They are the remnants of bridges which used to carry trains full of phosphates to the mainland. The Skyway across Tampa Bay. bryston3bsst, really nice capture. Including a wide expanse of the sky in your shot was a great idea. It brings out the "skyway" aspect of the bridge. |

This bridge is exclusively for golfers and their carts, here in Florida. Dennis Dennis, what a finding! I really like how you composed your shot -- golf course in the foreground drawing our eyes towards the bridge in the background. Another job well done (as usual)! |

If I had to choose one shot, I would pick the first one. I love the composition elements -- leading lines going diagonally across the frame, vanishing point, and the touch of color from the bush. Beautiful! |

My favourite bridge. Tees Newport Bridge at Middlesbrough, Cleveland, UK. Completed in February 1934. Built at local iron and steel factory. Locked permanently down in November 1990, as big ships no longer travelled up the River Tees. I attended the final lift. Very emotional. If the electric motors were to ever break down, then there was a petrol engine to use. If that were to fail, then it would take 12 men 8 hours to winch the bridge up by hand. (I don't think that ever happened though). The bridge was recently painted to celebrate it's 80th birthday. (They should have kept the old colours).    This is the bridge on its final lift. |

 Two bridges on the Vedder River in Chilliwack. The new bridge opened to traffic in August and the old bridge which was built in 1948 is being dismantled. |

Here's a shot of "Big Mac" at The Straights of Mackinac in Michigan Wayne, great image! I love how you "naturally" framed the "Big Mac" with the foliage/grass. Beautiful composition!
As a side note -- I have driven along that bridge on my way to the Upper Peninsula. Thanks for the memories!

Capilano Suspension Bridge, Vancouver, BC and a few quick facts: 450 feet long 230 feet above Capilano River How much weight it can hold.......96 Full Grown Elephants! As per fact sheet! Wayne, you picked the right spot to take your shot from; you captured this suspension bridge in its entirety. I really like the inclusion of the human element in your composition. |
