Thanks everyone for trying this technique.
Billz - Yes, it's a very surreal look. Blackmutt - What a clever way to achieve a kaleidoscope type effect.

I tried this technique while taking some shots around Sydney the other day. I will try to pull them off my camera later on today and post one if it comes out.

It was luck Sepiana.....used my 24-105 zoom.....zooming while taking the picture.....ISO 100, f ll, 1/20 at 28mm.
In hindsight, I wish I would have taken a regular exposure and then masked in that one flower that is almost in focus.

Helen, thanks! I was wondering if it was zooming or moving the camera around (rotating?).

This was a tricky one and I managed a few failures today. This was done with an adjustable ND filter that let me get the exposure up to 1.5 secs at f11 Iso 100 and zoomed out with my 18-200mm lens. Still haven't quite figured out why the shots I took turned out the way they did. Going to have to experiment some more. Thanks for the challenge! Tony

One more in black and white - I think this must have been a zoomed in rather than out like the last one. Timing the zoom to match the exposure makes a big difference. Tony

This is a composite: ICM of the Peony bed blended with a Peony. Not sure this is in line with the challenge

Frank, great choice of subject for this technique. I really like all the vertical lines and the blocks of color. Very interesting results!

It looks surreal! I really like how the lines direct our eyes towards the yellow flower in the center of the frame. Very effective cropping -- square!

Looking forward to your continuing participation in the WP challenge!

Thanks kdcintx for suggesting this theme. Here is my attempt at an artistically blurred photo. It is the city town hall which was bathed in red light for this year's Sydney Vivid Festival which is taking place now.
