Hi everyone, Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread. - Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. - Photoshopping is allowed but should be kept to the basics only rather than a total transformation - Grab your camera, experiment, and, most of all, have fun.

An appropriate topic as there's a raging blizzard going on outside - now where did I put that remote … Tony

Tv's have grown somewhat in 64 years! 23 inch to 65 inch, Mind you, so have I...... I believe the first one was still Black & White! Wayne, great idea -- old photo + new photo! It puts the "growth" of TV in perspective. I really like how you composed your shot to focus on the size of the TV.

Helen, great finding for this theme. So American -- pizza, beer, sports bar, TV! Spot-on focus on the main subject -- the TV sets.

Note: Been away one week and getting caught up with life here at home. Okay, so this is a titch odd. It was nice to see some oldie TV shots and I was reminded of these two photos I took on July 20, 1969. We were in the TV room at a student residence at a research station. A bunch of folks were gathered to watch the moon landing. Of course, I had to take photos of the TV screen. Taken with a Minolta SRT 101. (After graduating from university in 1968, my mother bought me a grad present. I opted for the Minolta SRT 101 which was a dream camera back in the day. Stayed with Minolta for many years, even when Sony purchased Minolta a few years ago and have now owned three Sony DSLRs...actually my current camera is not a DSLR, but mirrorless.) In 2017, I paid to have a few hundred slides scanned. These two photos were in that batch. Fun stuff. The photos were actually take on July 20 since the official time shown was UTC ... and MST is a few hours earlier.

This was our first TV (black & white, colour TV came to Australia a few years later) That is my sister and me, nearly 60 years ago now. Feels like a previous life time.

pontiac1940 , two shots capturing one of the most memorable moments in the history of the US space exploration -- Neil Armstrong's first step on the moon.
Thanks for acknowledging that these two images were taken at that time! Hopefully you will come back and delight our members with a photo along the lines of the WP challenge -- taken during or after the week a given theme is posted. Looking forward to it! I am sure our members feel the same way.
