Hoping no one beat me to this! When I was teaching kindergarten this was one of my favorite books to use with my class. I would always use it as an introduction to a math lesson and invite parents to visit the different tables where children were experimenting with sorting a variety of objects. It was always fascinating to see the unique properties that children would see at the "Button Table". I would frequently be surprised and pleased to hear their reasoning as to why certain groups of buttons belonged together. They were so good at seeing the less obvious things that adults might miss.  How about some thread! |

Not a selfie! ☺An old press drill (grain planter), taken July 2018. This rusty planter would be from the 50s or possibly earlier. (The rubber tires would indicate later than earlier.) Now a photo of a single feather laying on the ground.  |

I thought the same thing, Margaret. But I think kids in some areas of the United States may have started already or will be starting soon. I'll hand it back over to Peterj to decide if he wants to change the topic. |
