When looking at a thread and there are 2 or more pages is it possible to get that at the bottom of the page also? I tried to get use to looking at the top to see if there is another page or remembering to click the large arrow but it would be much more convenient to see at the bottom also if the thread continues on more pages. Thank you

Thank you I don't that is possible Jancy, at least not in one click, but if you select the last page, then arrow down, it is only 2 clicks. If you click the New Posts button, if there is a new post since your last visit you can go to it directly by clicking the little red new button. I think that is better; the problem with going directly to the very newest post is that you then have to figure out how far back to go the see new stuff but not posts you have already seen.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that is what Jancy is asking. Jancy means (I think), can you have the 'Prev : 1 : 2 : Next' buttons at the bottom of each page as well as the top, so once you've scrolled to the bottom of page one (for example) you can go to page two from there, without having to scroll back to the top? If you follow the link to ProBoards and look at some other sites they have this design, so it seems to be supported.

This is a good point, I feel. I totally agree with the suggestion that there be 'Prev / 1 - 2 - 3 ... / Next' etc at the bottom of the pages On another thread, very recently, I posted but then saw another post in that thread that I hadn't seen, although it was timed well before the one I posted. I couldn't understand how this had happened until another member pointed out that I, in fact, wasn't on the last page (having used 'New Posts' I've never had this issue before in other forums but hadn't realised it was because there was no indication at the bottom of the page that there was/wasn't a further page active. Personally, I do think it would be extremely helpful if this could possibly be amended which, as alexr suggests, should be achievable. Many thanks

Thank you Alexr, you are correct, that is exactly what I meant. Yes Julie it's very easy to miss there are other pages to a thread when reading the last post on page 1 unless one goes back up to the top to see. If it were at the bottom also one could then see it and go to the next page without having to look up at the top and realize there are other pages to read before posting.
Thanks tp - sorry for the confusion and not making myself clear, but Alex explained it better than I

The page navigation bar doesn't go away, it is always present at the top of the page! It looks like it is going to scroll away, but it sticks when it gets to the top, no matter how far down you go.

Thanks tp - I realize its there, and it does follow when scrolling down so it is still available, its just old habits to automatically look at the bottom right of the last post than to look up at the top left to see if there is a next page, 1,2 etc. This is the only site that I can think of that I belong to that does it this way so it'll just be a matter of getting use to. Old habits!

Old habits! Don't I know it! We all felt pretty sheepish when we kept looking for it at the bottom of the page, and were annoyed to have to scroll back to the top to see it; then DOH! It's always there, even better than on other sites!

Thanks, the penny's dropped, at last! However, it will take some time for me to learn to look up there so I apologise in advance of messing up again J

When I get to the bottom of a thread page, I just click on the arrow on the right side of the screen. It is like an express elevator -- no stop all the way to the top and then I can change floors, I mean, pages.

Sepiana -
The point is, you can change pages without doing that, since the page indicator is always at the top.

Sepiana - The point is, you can change pages without doing that, since the page indicator is always at the top. From the way I understand -- They want the page indicator to be always at both places, at the top and at the bottom of the page. As there is no page indicator at the bottom, the arrow is the fastest way to scroll back to the top.

The fastest way isn't to scroll back to the top, it's just to click on the page indicator at the top, which is always there.

Lol - ok, the word "top" is being used in two different ways here, and hence possibly the reason for the confusion. There is the "top" of the current page of posts (which may be off screen), and then there is the "top" of the visible display. Please observe that as you scroll down the page of posts, the pape navigation bar remains visible at all times at the top of the display. It looks like it is going to scroll off the display with the posts, but when it gets to the top of the display it "sticks" there.

Yes Sepiana thats exactly what we mean. I'm not necessarily concerned with the fastest way to get to the next page. My concern was that the next page of a thread is easily overlooked because lots of us are use to seeing the next page of a thread also residing at the bottom right of the last post on that page indicating there is another page. <<Prev 1,2,3,Next>> Like this below.
