Problem solved!!! Now I can see the page indicator anywhere along the thread. The solution? As Holmes would say -- "Elementary, my dear Watson." All I had to do was add this site to the Compatibility View Settings (Page>Compatibility View Settings). Living and Learning!
Thanks to all who got me in the right direction -- the browser!

Well it looks like we accomplished something! Glad to hear you got it figured out Jancy, I owe you a big one for starting this thread! Otherwise, I would have never noticed the "missing" page indicator. Thanks!

Just playing catch-up & want to add that I see the page 'stickie' at the top in all three of my browsers (Firefox, Chrome & IE11)
And Sepiana, thanks so much for explaining what the grey arrow on the side of the page was for - I had no idea!

Bayla I'm glad you got that extra bit Bayla. It turns out the navigation and search on this site is quite a bit more powerful that it was on EV, once you learn about all the little esoteric bits.

Thanks for this thread.... I didn't see the page indicator following me in the thread either. Now I know!

Thanks from me also. Now I have no idea whether the buttons were there all along and I never noticed (I'm using Safari), or whether something has changed, but whatever, I like this 'always there' solution, which I find more elegant than the original request to have them 'top and bottom'. Interesting to see if the other ProBoard forums follow your lead.
