3rd and last attempt.
This time I used the original version of the "original" image in my op and again followed Tpgetty's tip.

Well, that was a learning experience. Thanks Tom. As Bailey noted, to achieve the effect as described and desired, the "right" image/scene is needed. I tried a bunch of mountain panos, but the values and hues of the sky varied from left to right..far too much to clone/blend. I also learned that I take a dearth of cityscapes, buildings and structures. Planet of the Straw Bales.

Tony, I love the glass sculpture and also that you left the outer stripes as a background effect.

This is SO addictive! This planet used to be Lake Powell, UT.

One more - it's addictive! This started life as a Chihuly glass sculpture in a field of tulips - again I used the duplicate and flip horizontal method of creating a seamless image.
I really like this one Tony! It reminds me of an alien creature from some movie, but can't quite put my finger on which one.

Must admit I'm starting to like ones that don't use a panorama, don't include sky and weren't a landscape to start with. Nothing like breaking a few rules and experimenting Here's another with the starter image and the end result. Look closely and there's another alien image - with horns! Tony

ritage ....would love to see your starter for the flowers above Helen, I think seeing the starter wouldn't explain much, so I documented the workflow. At least I hope that explains it
