Simple layout, great colors and texture.....love the tools and the graceful (branches? vines? little arms? tendrils...maybe?) you know what I mean of the plant. Stems?

Thank you Helen. That background is a 59 cent scrapbook sheet 🤫 the plant is a thyme.

I love the effects you have got with your pictures, Lillias.
I want to give the Highland coo a big cuddle. He is gorgeous.

Thank you whippet. I am aware that the edges around both animals are less than perfect and wondered if anyone had any tips or suggestions on how best to deal with that?

With Lillias' permission, I worked on a screenshot of her original image and used one of my own textures. To try to get rid of the green, I first selected the animal in small sections....ex. one horn at a time. That made it somewhat easier to reduce the green that sort of fringed the image. After doing this I created a blank layer above the image and lightly cloned the background over the troublesome edges. I also cloned parts of his fur from the right leg over the area around his neck at the left. I used the blur tool around the edges of his horns. Finally I added a vignette. So here's my attempt..... I should add that I don't claim to be an expert at this and my version lacks the contrast that Lillias' image has. Lillias, maybe could share an image in case other members might have some ideas? That way we can all learn from each other.

Great result Helen. Thank you for going to so much trouble and trying this out. I didn’t think to use a blank layer and clone to it. I must try that. In the meantime I remembered seeing videos by Jai Johnson showing how she blends animals into backgrounds and having looked at the one I have given the link to below I think this is the kind of look I am going for. I will put up the original image (from Pixabay) in case anybody else wants to try this .

Thank you, Lillias. And thanks for the link. I usually don't photograph animals but I have been seeing some wonderful images combined with textures in a FB group. So you have inspired me to think more about animals as subjects. Jai Johnson's work is beautiful, as are her textures. I look forward to watching the video.
It would be nice if some other members had the time to work on your animal picture as well.
