I was wondering if there might be any interest on this modification of the idea of posting a picture a day? I would create a thread titled Today's Picture. It would be an open invitation to members to add a picture, taken that day to the thread. My thought is that when once that day ended anyone could post a picture that would begin a new round of pictures......it could be within days or weeks of the original post but no longer than a month. It could be fun never knowing when the next day would pop up. If you think you might like to do this or have any ideas that might make it more interesting reply below. If there seems to be enough interest I'll start the thread.

When someone posted for a new day the thread would just pop up in new posts. So the thread might lay dormant for awhile after the first day. Then anyone who wanted could just renew it within the month timeframe. Does that make sense? Seems better than having a bunch of different threads. Would work like the Texture thread. |

Sounds good to me - if I'm reading it right you could have several members post pictures on a given day - as long as it was taken and posted that day. Would need to think about our members in different timezones - such as Australia where today is already tomorrow!

Jacki started a game of WWF with me last night as I was finishing dinner.....we had never played together before....she messaged me with a "Good Morning". If I remember from another post you are interested in the world clocks.....any ideas how to address that? |

OK....thinking about this I don't think we have an issue. If the thread is just named Today's Picture......then when someone posts to the thread it will automatically have the date on it for that day. So if I introduce the thread on Monday....the thread would start on June 28th. Anybody could add a picture that they take that day. If someone from Australia didn't see the post till the next day (June 29th) it shouldn't really matter.....it would still be "Todays Picture". Again anyone could just add a picture on the 29th. Perhaps no one adds a picture for awhile....not a problem. Whenever someone wanted to they could just locate the thread and add a new picture which would cause the thread to pop up again in new posts. Maybe we could motivate each other to just get out the camera.

What a good idea Helen, I would love to participate as often as I am able. So no theme for the photos? And comments are encouraged?
I sometimes find myself at a loss as to what to photograph, and lately sketch, but I found an old game of Junior pictionary that we had when the boys were younger, so I randomly choose a card on a daily basis and use that to practice my drawing skills, but it could also be used for subjects to capture with a camera.

Comments could include whatever the person posting would like to share about their picture and comments or questions about someone else's submission. will there be daily limit we each upload. Good question! I have two thoughts on this and would like to know what others think. If it's called Today's Picture perhaps just post one....or if we agree to more than one include them all in the same post? I don't mean for this to replace people from creating their own individual threads in Show Your Work . |
