Ah Inspeqtor .......Howard was being funny and Jacki was playing along. There is no snake......I often miss people's humor as well. Unless you are being funny and you got me! No I was not trying to be funny, I was very serious not seeing any snake in the picture!

Yesterday I almost set the garden alight, threw some ashes from the fire pit onto the garden bed, (they were 6 days old), but unbeknownst to me, they were still smoldering. They took hold in this old dry log that’s been sitting in the garden for 20+ years and that’s when my nightmare started, I am now known as Smokin’ …. A scary event for you Jacki. I'd have thought the ashes would be well out after 6 days too. Anyway, glad you managed to get it all under control. On the bright side, it made a good photo.

Yes, I should have realised it's very English and may not be recognised. However, it does predate text messaging by at least 40 years! I remember using it at school in about 1972!

With Canadian Thanksgiving next Monday it was very timely to have a group of wild turkeys visiting the back yard - actually there have been quite a lot visiting recently in groups of up to 12 but today I had the camera ready and took this shot through a window. Wild turkeys were extinct in Ontario as a result of habitat loss and over hunting but started to be reintroduced in 1984 and now they are pretty common especially in this area of Southern Ontario. Blue jay in our backyard this morning. It was quite fearless and picked peanuts off the deck while I was sitting outside with my camera < 2 m away. Love blue jays even though peanuts in the shell are expensive. Totally worth the cost.

Quite a nice set of photos this morning...
Howard - the composition of your photo really speaks to me Helen - your sunrise is spectacular Tony - I think those guys should run and hide Clive - you've captured the essence of this guy - the top photo - I love the head tilt
