Just got these delivered ready for my winter project, I'm aiming to build 4wd chassis frame to mount 2 cameras, GPS, motor power distribution board, flight controller board compatible to flash Ardurover software so got few ideas but still lots of researching to do.

Thank you so much for posting that. I was thinking about those the other day and thought I might show my 8-yr-old buddy how to make one. The problem of making one today is that I would have to turn out a spool on the lathe as I haven't seen a common wooden spool in years. We called them "tractors" We would smear a little bar soap on the sides of the spool for lubricant. The ones we made didn't have that white plastic piece; what purpose does it serve ?

My early days was meccano sets spent hours dreaming up ideas, Clive you've given me the answer I was looking for...! your matchsticks clever idea, I have a spare FC board so with 4 motor arms and 4 servos mounted to the frame then connecting to the arms by way of a link I'd be able to control the level of the robotics when moving along uneven ground. This is the idea I've got in mind,

It looks like that is going to be an interesting project. I wish you had put something for size reference in the picture. Those tires/wheels look like the real thing, right down to the Dick Cepek tread; however, if they are the real thing, then those motor wires would be as big as my arm. What is the diameter of the tires ?

Been searching me spares stock and slight change having found these motors so I will use in place of servos, I will need to source motor worm gears, 4in1 esc which powers motors I sure I have just finding it, then below is the control board which will control motor speeds.

Had a good search through my hoarder of parts and found 4 arms off an old quad of mine and bearings from some old motors, 2nd picture shows roughly how the arms will be mounted, also found a chassis frame and just waiting delivery on that.

For the motors, the motor controller turned up today, still struggling to fined a frame so can't start the build as yet.
