I actually like many of the differences I am currently experiencing and so far the only thing I have found that might be a problem is the lack of being able to delete a post. I didn't do or change anything to cause this, it just happened between one visit and the next. Maybe IE updated something in the middle of the night that I am unaware of. As for the highlight business, I was unaware of the feature and wouldn't miss it if it were gone.

. . . so far the only thing I have found that might be a problem is the lack of being able to delete a post. BuckSkin, You cannot delete a thread you created. You need to contact one of the Administrators/Moderators to do it for you. On the other hand, you can delete a post you created within your own thread or within another member's thread.
Just locate the post you want to delete. In the right corner (top) you will see a little gear icon. Click on it and select "Delete Post" from the drop-down menu.

BuckSkin, With regard to my post above, I would be very interested to know if you can unblock the icon in the address line. This forum is one of only 5 sites I'm aware of, on which I encounter the same behavior you describe every few days because the blocking feature resets itself spontaneously. I've never found the reason for it. Had the same experience on the Color Vision Test site referred to in another thread by Bayla.
You can always re-block it, if you really like it better. But you may also find that you cannot post with postimage. I can't when it is blocked.

I use IE11 and I have Tracking Protection (the blocking feature) turned on. As a matter of fact, it is enabled for our forum. (I forgot to disable it.) I don't experience any of the behavior BuckSkin describes. Neither do I have any problems posting via postimage.org.
I have been to other sites where I cannot see an image or play a video because of this content blocking. I just turn it off temporarily.
As a side note -- I didn't have to turn it off on the Color Vision Test site you mention.

That is just the thing, I no longer see the little gear icon; it just is not there for me; weird, huh?

ritage, I am not seeing this "circle with a bar through it" icon of which you describe. I have IE but really do not know which version-number it is. How can I tell which version I have ? Thanks.

Buckskin -
In IE (or almost any program, for that matter), go to Help | About.

As for the ads, for me, sometimes they appear and sometimes they don't. I haven't been able to discern a pattern, but it's certainly nothing we've done to eliminate them. I was having trouble understanding the ProBoards documentation about what the behavior was going to be when ads were turned off, so I bought a subscription to find out. It blocks ads for up to 50,000 page views/month. It turned out that we get 50,000 page views in about a week, so then the ads come back on. Once I understood the full cost of blocking ads I decided to cancel the subscription, so they should come on again shortly.

Sepiana,
It is not Tracking Protection that does this. I have that turned on all the time. This is a problem that has puzzled me as long as I have used IE11.
I discovered it when Google Images no longer worked, which took me forever to work out. I don't have the problem on my LapTop which runs the same OS, same browser, same security software. I've spend hours comparing every setting I could think of between the two computers and can find no difference. Even a very knowledgeable Geek Squad Guy found no other solution than to just keep turning the blocking icon off.
That's why I was so very interested when it seemed possible that BuckSkin might have the same problem.
I just can never leave a puzzle alone, even though this one really is no hindrance to me.
Rita

I just checked and it says I have IE-11 version 11.0.9600..... The box is checked to allow automatic updates. My screen looks nothing like your screenshot. My favorites menu is on the right side and remains hidden until I click a star icon located on extreme right-top. Immediately underneath my "back" button, and all the way across the screen is a favorites bar where I can add sites/pages that I can immediately access without opening the main favorites menu. Your screenshot looks much like mine did four or five years ago. I do not have the little circle/bar icon; all I have there is a magnifying glass, a little downward-pointing triangle that opens a search menu, and a circular arrow refresh icon. This puzzle is becoming interesting.

You can customize the "looks" of your browser. This may explain the differences you see.
I have my Favorites Bar on the right side of the screen as well. It is hidden; I bring it up by clicking on the Favorites icon (the star). I have turned it off as my screen shot shows.
As to the little circle with a diagonal across -- You need to first turn on "Tracking Protection".
Here is some additional information.
Use Tracking Protection in Internet Explorer
Customize the Internet Explorer toolbars

Thanks, Sepiana, you always go above and beyond to deliver the goods.

Buckskin - A couple of other suggestions - 1) Delete your IE cache (Gear icon: Safety: Delete Browsing History (make sure Temporary Internet Files and Website Files is checked) 2) Log out of the forum and log back in again
