Background: Our neighbor's 47-year-old son passed 3 weeks ago from a brain aneurysm. He was healthy with no symptoms. Died "instantly" in his sleep ... out of the blue. So sad. Nice guy. His parents have one iPad photo of him (they really like) and they would like to make a large canvas print. Unfortunately, their only file is a mere 720 by 1280 pixels. I thought there might be a larger file hidden on the iPad but checked an iPad forum and it seems that is what it is. So this is the only file of this image. They would like a quite large print (say), something like 16 by 20. His mom said a tall format with the left side removed would be fine. One of our local labs will print any size format. Right mow, we are just looking for large size. I can crop to suit later. You assistance in enlarging this photo is much appreciated. I was able to lighten the dark areas and tone down the brights (another file), but failed miserably trying to enlarge the photo on PSE. This will be a real challenge. Perhaps impossible. It's always sad to lose a loved one, especially such a young one! I thought I'd give this a try, too. I used Topaz Gigapixel to enlarge it then processed in Camera Raw and applied a curves adjustment layer in Photoshop.
I probably could have made it larger, but stopped at 4X (2880pixels X 5120pixels = 9.6 x 17.067 inches).

VickiD ......how did you enlarge? Did you enlarge in increments or to the desired size? Just saw your info on your post, Vicki. Didn't see that before....thanks!

pontiac1940, I hope they are happy with one of the versions. If they want, I can enlarge mine even more to give some wiggle room for the crop, and will need your email so I can send via dropbox.
