Hello Everyone, This weeks C-E Challenge is going to be using Displacement Maps. The tutorial is by Blue Lightning TV. Although he is using Photoshop, this can be done in PSE. Just follow his directions for making the Displacement Map. The only difference is in PSE you cannot convert a layer into a Smart Object. You can use any type of B-G for your Displacement Map. I used a picture of a rock that I took. The model is from morquefile. But he has a download for the brick wall if you would like to use it. Here is the video;link This is the one I did. I used a square picture, but if you want to tilt the image, a rectangular picture will work better.
Have fun, and let's get Creative.

What a great job BillieJean, Dave, Frank you have done. Frank, I wish I could buy some flowers like that. I would have a whole yard full of them.

Mike, thanks for finding this tutorial for us! It is always lots of fun to create this effect.
The rose file is from freeimages. The Displacement Map is a photo I shot some time ago -- algae in pond water. The frame effect was done with a layer style by Jodi.

Thanks Mike for the challenge. Having never done displacement maps I was eager to learn as I always wanted to take a crack at this. The subject is called a "Nana" and she is one of three Nanas that stand in Hannover, Germany.

The deeper the contours on the displacement map, the more effective the effect will be.

Helen, Sepiana, Jack, Simone, and Metis, I love each and everyone of them. Good job to you all. Sepiana: I was wondering if you could point me too Jodi's website. I had her frames at one time. But when my computer crashed a couple of months ago, I lost my zip file of them. Yes Metis it does have a stronger effect on your subject the deeper the indentations. Thanks for pointing that out. Keep up the great work y'all, and keep them coming.
