OK, I might be making headway on this problem...I've never noticed before that there is a "selection" that can be made under the folder option of the APD... for the camera... For some reason, all were checked and dups were downloaded...but when only checking one, only a single was downloaded....interesting! I believe my problem is solved, hopefully this may help others.

I saw this on another thread, but wasn't sure it was the same, so started a new thread.. My PSE 2021 organizer is importing 2 copies of the same file when I connect my camera. Windows 10, PSE 2021, Nikon P950. Windows explorer shows 1 file on camera, PSE downloader shows 2 files. After dl via APD, PSE organizer shows 2 files xyz and xyz-1. Windows explorer still shows one file on camera, but now shows 2 (xyz and xyz-1) files in the dated folder the the organizer created. Have had PSE versions for many many years, this is the first time this has come up. Screen shots for clarification:

Samsung note 9 and windows 10. I'm able to hook up either camera to usb and PSE 2020 begins an auto-import. When I hook up my phone (camera), it starts autoimport, but just hands with message "connecting to device please wait"..no messages or prompts on phone...I can see the folders\files in windows explorer and drag them from phone to computer manually, so there is communication between phone and computer....anyone else have / solve this issue? My goal is to autoimport files under roger'snote\phone\dcim from phone to computer like it does with my cameras. Thanks

I want to delete my backup catalog (356gb!) but can't find a way to do that using PSE 2020. Is it safe to simply delete the files using windows explorer? Also, When I select manage catalogs, it only show 1 cat called "my catalog 1". When I goto help/system info, it shows Current Catalog:
Catalog Name: My Catalog 1
Catalog Location: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\My Catalog 1\
Catalog Size: 392.1MB
Catalog Cache Size: 3.2GB But when using windows explorer, I show 3 catalogs in that location called My catalog, my catalog 1, and my catalog 1 1 . Are these old catalogs and can I delete them (other than the "my catalog 1") ? Is all info for my pse2020 saved in my catalog 1? Hopefully there's a catalog guru who can help.. Thanks, Roger

Photoshop Elements 2020 update (version 2020.1)
Updated: 3rd February, 2020
Build: 20200120.m.139570
After the update is installed, verify the build number by choosing Help > About Photoshop Elements.
This free update includes crash fixes. It also fixes an issue where the application was reverting to trial after installing an update. Additionally, this update fixes the following compatibility issues in Elements Organizer on macOS 10.15 (Catalina):
Unable to import media from sub-folders
Sub-folders of a folder are not shown in Import in Bulk dialog
Apply the update in one of the following ways:
Click Install Now or Install On Exit in the update message displayed in Photoshop Elements.
Choose Help > Updates (when the update message is not displayed).

OK, I can recreate it...open organizer, select pic, hit delete and all works correctly....if I open organizer, go to editor, close editor back to organizer, it works fine...but if I open organizer, go to editor, make any changes and close editor without even saving, then hit delete, it misbehaves as originally indicated...any ideas?

So when I'm in organizer, I have newest photos first (I have over 75k photos). If I select a photo, then "delete", then check the box "delete from disk also", it does so, but them refreshes my view to the bottom of the list of photos (i.e., 1980 year). I then have to scroll all the way up to the top of my organizer to view my most recent photos again....this happens every time I delete 1 or several pics. This never used to work this way, wondering what has changed / how to fix. Thanks all

Thanks Sepiana...the "Edit>Fill Content-Aware is what I was missing. It works, but not nearly as good as the guided edit. I usually avoid using guided edits, preferring to use expert mode in the past...this has changed my mind, I think maybe I'll explore guided edits a little more Thanks and Happy New Year

The answer is so simple...once you know the answer Thank you so much Sepiana, that fixed it. Each year I setup my new version. But after a year of not using the settings, I tend to forget what "my" defaults were. Thanks again, Cheers, Roger

When I used to edit and "save as" copy, in pse2019, the organizer would show the newly created edited copy next to the original. In 2020, it now shows a little box with a check mark in the corner (version set), but not the original. Under menu/ view, the expand all stacks is grayed out.... What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Roger

Played with guided edit object removal and it worked pretty good using the auto selection tool. Thought I'd do the same in expert mode. The auto selection tool worked fine, but then I drew a blank...how to I remove the selected item in expert mode. I tried fill with content aware, but the results were much worse than the guided. Any suggestions would be appreciated, Thanks, Roger
