Thanks for the notice, Sepiana. Also good to know that this significant update is free for registered owners of Photo RAW 2018.1.

Good news Sepiana,.....thanks for posting it. As a form PET magazine subscriber I'm looking forward to completion of Rick's PET project - it should be a valuable "how to" resource for PSE users.

Affinity Photo (a worthy alternative to Photoshop on the Mac) is now available in a Beta version for Windows. It can be downloaded for free from this site. At the end of the beta period it will cost $50 for the final release version. Usable to edit both RAW and non-RAW images an explanatory 8 minute video for Windows users can be viewed here: vimeo.com/190854361It should be worth a peek!

What does Elements 12 have that Elements 7 does not ? In moving from Elements 7 to Elements 10 a significant change for me was the ability to create layer masks directly rather having to "borrow" a mask from an adjustment layer and clipping it to the layer below. I believe this very useful change occurred with Elements 9 and has thankfully remained in Elements ever since.

I was experiencing the same problem as Moto - no Nik HDR Efex Pro 2 showing up in PSE 14 either as a Filter or Automation Tool option. So I closed PSE 14 and re-ran the installer for the Nik Suite, noting in the process that Elements 14 did show up in the listing of Compatible Host Applications. I then rebooted my PC and opened PSE 14 with a test image. No luck - as before, HDR Efex Pro 2 was nowhere to be found. However, after much digging around I was at last successful in getting HDR Efex Pro up and running in PSE14 by doing the following:
Close PSE14 and navigate to C:\Program Files\Google\Nik Collection\HDR Efex Pro 2. Open this folder to find another folder inside titled HDR Efex Pro 2 (64 bit) - it contains 2 files inside. Copy this folder (HDR Efex Pro 2 (64 bit)) into the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 14\Plug-ins\Google folder. (You need to be running in Administrator mode to permit this). Close all, reboot the computer and open PSE 14 with a test image. If all goes well, Nik HDR Efex Pro 2 will now show up and be usable as a Filter and an Automation Tool option in Elements 14.

Thank you Helen for enlightening us about Adobe Spark. For those who may be interested in trying out this app, Julieanne Kost of Adobe has this short but informative video on how to create a Spark page.
