This idea came from the Weekly Photo Challenge No. 442 - Lettering . There is no specific tutorial although I have included a couple of simple PSE ones that may give you ideas on what to try but basically I'm looking for creative ways to add text to an image in whatever way you choose. I have seen some great examples in this forum and feel free to add those to this thread with a brief description on how the effect was achieved. Here are two PSE tutorials on adding more decorative text to images: Photoshop Elements How to Put a Photo inside TextHow You Can Put a Picture Inside Text with Photoshop ElementsUse any method you want - I used Firefly to create the text for the first of my examples. It's now out of Beta and still free (all you need is an Adobe ID). For the other example I created a pattern from a selection of the butterfly and used it to fill the text using much the same approach as in the two videos.
Looking forward to seeing your text creations. Tony

I call this ‘shadow text’. It is better to use a good bold text for this effect. Type your text on the page and make sure that your text layer is selected in the layers panel - Go to Styles - Visibility and double click on the invisible icon as indicated in my example on the page. Your text will seem to disappear BUT... while still in Styles go to Drop Shadows and place a drop shadow on the text and if you wish you can then go to Bevels and place a simple inner Bevel on the text. I call this ‘shadow text’. Thanks Lillias. Worked well. In this example I could have just used white text as the background is white anyway. But I learned something. Thanks. Keeping with the Halloween theme...well, spooky anyway.

Photos inside text. Each letter needs to be worked with individually to get this effect. Choose very bold/thick font. Clip photo to letter and use move tool to resize and move the photo for placement.

- Created the text pattern with Capture, a Photoshop extension. - Applied an Atmospheric texture by Merek Davis (Optimism, Multiply blending mode, 100% Opacity). - Created the animation with PSE (Enhance > Moving Overlays). - Image from Pixabay. Click on image to play the animation.

Wow! Great start from everyone. I do particularly appreciate the posts that describe how the text effects were achieved - the Shadow Text method from Lillias using styles I would never have thought of.
