Janice, It turns out to be really easy to cut out an orb: select the elliptical marquee tool, click the center of orb and pull out holding Shift and Alt. It nails the center down and pulls out a circle. Once the orb is selected put it on a new layer using Ctrl-J.

If you miss the center - right click inside the selection and choose Transform Selection. Adjust each side until you get the perfect circle. It's easy.

Wow, this thread is going places, beautiful entries. How about a bowl? Two flattened orbs, and for the bowl I erased what wasn't needed.

Janice, your 'stand' with the Orb is just amazing. It really gives the image new meaning. Also, I love the colours in your first orb with base. Tom, I love your creations here. Oh, I do so want some spare time so that I can try to catch you folks up!!! Ritage, your creations are just brilliant. You have such amazing imagination. Cutting your orb in half - well, what an amazing idea. Combined with the base, and the balls in the bowl, with a droplet, well, I think I've run out of words! (Ha! My friends would laugh at that, disbelievingly, as I'm always talking!!! ) Julie
