ATTENTION!!!
There is no longer a "next Sunday" posting deadline. You can grab your camera, take your photo, and post it in this thread any time you wish to.
Hi everyone,
Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread.
- Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. - Photoshopping is allowed but should be kept to the basics only rather than a total transformation. - Grab your camera, experiment, and, most of all, have fun.

Thanks Helen. No other month is as significant...or as definitive. My fave month. Hopefully winter is a long way off, but when September rolls through our part of the world, things change like in no other month of the year.
With the "September" theme in mind, I went for a walk across the road to photograph the grass and cottonwood poplar.

Enjoyed the story. Loved the poem (carousel horses are fantastic). And beautiful pictures, too.
They all sum up September nicely.

Thanks whippet and Tpgettys....much appreciated. September is a very good month. In a good autumn we can have decent weather far into October and even November. But when September is good, it is the best. Today was sunny and 23°C with no wind..had a nice walk this afternoon...camera in hand. In September, the damselflies and dragonflies are frantic and won't be long for this world. They breed and the females lay eggs before dying. The tattered wings on this small reddish dragon are a clue to its pending demise. Taken this afternoon.

September here is Fall Fair time and they were setting it up this morning as I passed by so had to stop for a photo of a deserted carousel! The painted ponies start going up and down tonight! And September is also scarecrow festival time - here's a part of the collection that is appearing around town Tony

Oh dear. Sorry Tony, just seen yours.
The annual carnival is setting up on our village green. I should have remembered - it rains every year. The artic had passed me on my way there. That is why they seem to be the only people around. (Except me, and two soaking wet dogs).

September is the time we always go away on holiday. This year we are exploring the Avenue of the Giants in California. Unfortunately, our travels are restricted by yet another wildfire just north of Redding. We are full of admiration for the brave firefighters who are tackling yet another conflagration in this beautiful area. Dennis

Lovely September day here. It's been dry for weeks and last week there was a light frost in SW Alberta so the range shrubs have turned. This is at about 1200 m elevation near Pincher Creek. BTW, these water-worn stones are about 100 M above the current river valley. They are testament to the massive meltwaters that gouged the high-plains glacial outwash valleys when it warmed rapidly at the end of the last glaciation between about 10,000 and 15,000 years ago!
