Added a stoke on each layer and framed the image. Fun and educational. Thanks Tom
That really enhanced the 3-dimensional effect Bob; well done!

That's cool kdcintx....so I was thinking along the same lines...make a hinged pano. You managed to keep the upper section as sky vs inverted "main scene." Clive EDIT ... fast and dirty...neat idea. Concept good. Needs to be done properly. Thanks to Tom for the original idea and kdcintx for the variation. River valley last fall.

@ Pontiac. A great slant to the tutorial, Clive. That looks like a glass screen.

Tom, thanks for finding this tutorial! Very interesting effect.
- Applied a stained glass texture I had created a long time ago. Difference blending mode. - Image source: Freeimages.

Frank, WOW! This is amazing!
I am curious. How did you create the 3D effect? Did you use the 3D module in Photoshop?

A very interesting project, tricky. Thanks Tom. We used this image for a Challenge a while ago.

I gave it another try using the stroke idea and limiting the amount of the image used on the vertical parts. I feel like there is still something yet to be envisioned to flesh out this effect more fully.

That's gorgeous, Tom! I especially like the way the trees recede to the background......gives it really nice depth.

Brilliant.
At first quick glance, the bottom section looked like planks of wood, with water lapping over them. Amazing effect all round.
