An old one that I recently came across.....think the texture was from flypaper textures.
The carousel is in Asbury Park NJ. While the structure is still there, it no longer houses the carousel which I enjoyed countless times as a kid.

Wasn't sure if I shared this one before or not - textures can definitely add that needed punch to a 'normal' shot or can be used to transform a view into a more painterly work. This 3-exposure HDR was edited in Perfect Effects. I've been 'collecting' textures for years so am not sure which I used on this shot.

Image from Unsplash. I applied a grainy vignette texture from spoongraphics. Inverted said texture and blended with the lighten blend mode.

Yes, I agree with everyone that textures can really turn an ordinary image into a real artwork. In this one I used two textures and an overlay with various blend modes: French Kiss textures Serendipity and Smoothie and an overlay from MixPixBox.

A while back I purchased one of the bundles from Design Cuts. Among the offerings were several overlay collections from MixPixBox (who I had never heard of up to that point).
