Thank you all for your responses. I only put the photo on, because I managed to get rain which was visible. Heavy rain again today. This time my patio was under water (A first). So anyone who would like it . . . let me know where you are, and I will willingly send any more over to you. Actually, BuckSkin, my roofer came this afternoon, and apparently it is the downpipe which is blocked. Fortunately not an animal, but muck which had accumulated over the years. This is today's photo.

let me know where you are, and I will willingly send any more over to you. That be me, whippet! We can't buy rain here. The foothills should be lush green...should be "peak green" and they look more like late summer ... tinges of green. Glad you got you water problems solved. Right? The morning sun helped with today's Baltimore oriole photos. Still, they feed so high in the poplar trees and I can't get a closer and lower-level photo. Oh well. The second is a ferruginous hawk taken this evening.

This is the mother of the triplet owlets. She landed close (in great light) and is hooting at another owl. This is something I never knew or had seen before: a great-horned owl puffing its throat to hoot.

Wow Clive, she is magnificent! Be good if you learnt how to speak Owl... Thanks Jacki. As noted in BuckSkin's post, I did buy an owl call. It is pretty good but I never used it yesterday. Was a fun experience.

Hi all. I am going away for 9 days and won't be posting photos here. There is wifi where we are headed so I might comment on occasion. However, our days will be long and filled with fishing until late evening. I am off to the Northwest Territory and the sun sets at ~ 11:20 PM so we can and will fish until late. Up at 6:30, breakfast, out to fish at 9:30, lunch while out, return to lodge at 4 PM, cigar and Coke, dinner, at 8:30 head out to "The Barrel" to fish more, return to lodge, hot tub, bed. Repeat. Keep the Today's Picture and PSEM live and well. Clive

Hope it is ok adding the background. Saw this while I was walking this morning. Not much happening so early. Getting ready to have a street party in celebration of the Queen now having spent 70 years on the throne.
