Bohemian waxwing eating chokecherry berries on an oppressively dull day. And a white-breasted nuthatch. Down in the river valley.

Bohemian waxwing eating chokecherry berries on an oppressively dull day. I think the oppressively dull day has worked beautifully for this stellar image. I like the way the bird is framed by the branches and the berry in his mouth is perfect......all set against that dull background.

Oh gosh, it was dull and trying to snow (which it has done quite a bit overnight) and this photo was shot at ISO 4,000. I denoised the background. Waxwings are so pretty and sometimes accommodating for photos.

Caught this little guy stuffing his cheeks!! We do not have black squirrels around here......forget where..... but think it may have been California where I saw them.

Took some pictures at a park today. Seeing cjt's leaf post I decided to share the one I took as well, along with one other image that I always take when I visit this park.

Some corvid levity. We love blue jays and spend a lot of money over the winter keeping them happy with peanuts in the shell and they are worth every penny.
