So you pay them in peanuts to pose for you.... Yup, sure do. They love peanuts in the shell. They eat on the spot or fly off and hide them and often never recover them. We find them here and there in the yard in spring.

We seem to have skipped Autumn this year. There's an oak tree at the bottom of the garden and the leaves are still green on it, as are all the other oak trees in the neighbourhood. Maybe slight tinges of brown here and there but over all, still green. Not many Autumn leaves on the ground. A quick shot of the oak tree this rainy morning.. It has been quite a picture in previous years.. The leaves could wither and fall with the first frost without turning colour very much.

After the rain comes some Sun and a good time to photograph this Fuchsia. It's still flowering at the end of October. I think that's a bit unusual for this time of year in England? Even had some bees on it but they wouldn't stay still long enough to be photographed..

Toad fish caught in the tidal pools. Known as the pole house, along the Great Ocean Road

Okay, that is crazy. Earth quake area? One assumes that they do not garden. ("Hon, could you run down and pick some peas.") Yeah, I see the access walkway on the left side. Looks like a Christmas card. Thanks Judy. I could never use it as a card because house sparrows (aka English sparrows) are invasive here. They are harmless but there are too many here and they eat a lot of seed we put out for the native birds such as house finches. Fishing boats were close to shore today........ Are the two large foreground boats "rental" fishing boats on which people pay to hang a line over the edge? Is there some sort of "run" (of fish) going on now?

Yes....rental boats.....from towns further down the coast. Stripers are caught every year around this time. In fact our town has a yearly contest for the largest striper caught.....Monmouth Beach Striper Classic. Great fun for all ages.....our grandson won a few years ago.
