Thanks to Lillias for her invisible text tip here. I took the text from my post in that thread and added it to a chickadee photo I took today in the river valley. The wrong text for a such a dainty bird, but it still looks cool.

I discovered that with a telephoto lens its possible to shoot through the wire fence. The fence is so out of focus that it does not appear in the final image. My experience is, the closer the camera is to the fence, and, the farther the point of focus is away from the fence, the more likely the fence is to disappear. If you step back a bit or your target is closer, then the fence will probably be visible. The problem with this fence business, and likewise close foliage and limbs, is when the fence shows up all thick and blurry.

Some pics of the Werribee river from today’s walk. Your river shots always look so Australian...; like, the water is full of tiny little creatures who want to get inside you and eat you from the inside out; and, bigger little creatures who want to eat you from the outside in; and, even bigger creatures who can eat you all at one bite....;
and, you capture it all so well.

Yesterday I almost set the garden alight, threw some ashes from the fire pit onto the garden bed, (they were 6 days old), but unbeknownst to me, they were still smoldering. That is a lesson every ash-dumper will sooner or later learn. Back about 25 years ago, I did the same thing. The ashes had been sitting in a metal five-gallon bucket for weeks. I dumped them in the edge of the woods beside the driveway. A few hours later, we were watching Gunsmoke; when, Katie, a 6-month-old Border Collie (the smartest creature known to man and the ONLY type of dog that will ever get any sympathy from me), bailed off the couch and started frantically barking at the outside door. .45 Long Colt in hand, I jerked open the door to see what had her attention = the whole place seemed ablaze. We sprang into action and soon had things under control without involving anyone else. Now, I have a 55-gallon drum w/lid. I stack the buckets of ashes in the barrel and dump the oldest first. Two weeks after putting a bucket in the barrel, the sides of the barrel will be too warm to touch.

YAY. Looks like we will get a good snow goose week this year. (We were cheated last year by record cold!!) They have arrived to our region on their way south. Even though there is snow on the ground the weather will be great this week and the birds should stick around. We saw about 50,000 today and I think there will far more than that within 3 or 4 days. There goes my week. Everything is on hold now for a few days.

The jacaranda are out and I think look their best isolated amongst the greenery.

Meet 'No more dogs' number 6. This is Molly, a 7 years old greyhound. I have had her for six weeks. She has a wonderful temperament. It is so long since I have been around, that I have forgotten how to 'pretty' pictures up.

Visiting in Wisconsin i.ibb.co/WkMfhzG/IMG-1201.jpgWe went looking for colors at the Richard Bong State Recreation Area in SE Wisconsin Along the Nature Walk, the benches have these tags. Thought you might find it interesting? cjt I find it interesting that someone could actually get lost in such a place.
Is there another sign warning to not actually sit on the rotten bench ?
Thanks for posting the picture.
