Peterj .....I did get a macro for my phone but never had much success with it. Did you use a tripod? The example I posted was hand held.

At first the scene with the fisherman and the dark sky caught my attention. Then I saw the fisherman had three fishing poles and I hoped for some action ... to capture the moment. I waited but no luck ... so I settled for the scene.

That's why fishing is known as 'savage amusement', Pete. I assume that is a railway bridge? I also like how you have caught all those ripples going in different directions.

That's a cool lily cjt Love the bi-colors. Yes, a telephoto lens works well for closeups. My honey bee/milkweed photos were shot with the 600-mm lens. Works well. Clive

Agree with Clive about your lily cjt and thanks for the reminder to use my zoom for close-ups.....I need to do that more often. tonyw.....like how the focus fades off to the background. jackscrap.....glad you were able to get out again....always enjoy seeing pictures from your locale. PeteB......happy to see you this thread.

Taking the advice of cjt and Peterj . I used my phone macro on the begonia and zoomed in on the hydrangea. Thanks to both of you.....and to pontiac1940 for suggesting macro photography.
Looking at Peterj 's example again I realized that I wasn't using the lens correctly. I hadn't used it in a long time. It is actually a dual wide angle/macro lens and the front has to be removed for it to become a macro. Hard to explain...but below it has been used as intended. I look forward to playing with this some more.
