My "Today's" photos are a wild gaillardia and a pileus cloud on top of a building cumulus cloud. (Wicked hail storms last night not far from here. I love storms, but hate it when damage happens ... always feel bad for those affected.) Both photos taken near the summer place in SW Alberta.

Thank you for the nice comments. If you look to the left of that little island you will see a boat in the water. My thought at the time was to try to get the boat heading home. Because of the slow shutter speed the boat is a blur but the shutter was open just long enough to capture the lightning just before closing.

I'll go for butterflies today and took the long lens for a visit to a patch of milkweed in a local park hoping to find monarchs and despite being a windy spot there were a few - here's one: There were a lot more of these butterflies - I'm no expert but I think it's probably a Great Spangled Fritillary Tony

Headed to a near-by town for today's picture. You can find out more about this sculpture here, if interested. Thinking this looks better in B/W than color...... I know we said that we would limit our post to two images but thought seeing the original wires might be worth showing. Oh and the wires were a bit of a pain but thought it was worth the effort.

Pristine butterflies, Tony. Sadly I often see them with damaged wings.

In the past they have used scaffolding....these guys just used the ropes and huge suction-like "thingies". Quite amazing to watch them....and very loud when they slammed those suction things onto your window!
