As usual, a wide variety of talents and imagination (Frank) put together to make an interesting show. Congratulations on making it to the top!

I don't plan to upgrade soon, but if I do, it will be my newest laptop running 8.1. However, I woke up in the middle of the night asking myself if there would be the same trouble setting up a home network, home groups, etc. that there was before v7. That is, if my 8.1 > v10 would still be able to talk to my other computers running v7. I guess I have to ask the Window 10 forums (above) if I really get serious about doing it.

When I first started using LR, I had to forget everything I had learned about organizing/saving. It is indeed a different mindset. One just has to have in place a backup plan for folders, since the catalog backup doesn't backup the images in the folders.
I didn't think I was professional enough to use LR, since I didn't take lots and lots of photos, but I quickly changed my mind after I found the strengths in LR.
You don't have to save your edited image as you are working on it. Every edit is remembered... not disappearing when you close the image.
If you do edits outside of LR, you just sync those into LR. Right click on any folder and sync all the changes.
I find the ACR editor in LR to be outstanding because it is integrated into the edits. I haven't found a limit to the number of images to edit at one time. You can also specify presets to be used as you import the images. I have some favorites such as lens corrections that are automated with presets.
Well I could go on and on, but these are my favorites.

Some people have a love/hate relationship with FB, but if you want an introduction, let us know LOL; that would be me Esther! Actually I don't understand it well enough to hate it; I just don't get it. I am curious if they all know about PSE&M over there; does it get mentioned? When I am a judge, I mention things that are happening, like needing more IOW submissions or announcing the results of the IOW. Right now there needs to be a mention, since there is a change in submissions. I will talk to Helen. Thanks for the question.... its a good one!

Well thanks a bunch, I'll be using this tip often. Just this week I have been doing some post-processing where I have changed the brush often using the shortcut method. Since I had started following this thread, I thought I would check back to see if there was anything new under the sun. Glad I did. Never too old to learn.
