Wonderful job everyone. Thanks Tom for the starter image. I started out to make this a B&W. I followed a YouTube video from the Phlearn channel. But after doing it I thought it needed something else. So I imported the original picture and set it to OVERLAY blending mode. Then I dropped the opacity down to 50%.

Thanks Simone for this interesting tutorial. Great takes from everyone so far. It looks a little blurry because I was going down the road at 60 mph.

If you an open a cmd window with administrator privileges try "SFC /scannow. " is will scan all system files for corruption an attempt a repair. If it can't correct the errors I'll give you the second part to it that may. Thanks stevenm for the suggestion. But I don't know how to open a command window. My computer knowledge is very limited.

Thanks Sepiana, I took these yesterday with my granddaughter. This is her flowers that she planted 3 years ago when she was 3 years old. They are planted in an old stump I have in my yard. I don't remember the name of them. But they reseed themselves every year.

Here is another one I tried. The saying is something I tease my granddaughter with all the time.

Tammy- Great job on your submission. I love how you combined all of your elements into this wonderful composite. And yes this can become very addicting. I have already done 2, and have 2 more in the works. Good Job!
Tom- Nice job on your rose. The background you used really sets off this rose. It looks like a "Joseph's Coat" rose. Is it?

I had to use the BBcode to upload my picture from Flickr. For some reason when I went to use postimage.org and the hit the upload button I keep getting a pop-up saying INVALID FILE. I tried it 3 times. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I've not. Is it still a problem for you? Bayla I don't know Bayla. I haven't tried to upload a picture yet today. Yesterday was the first time that had happen to me. Maybe it's just a little cliché or something.

verber10 - Amazing transformation. The subject matter is great, but the transformation of the color palette is what draws me to the photo most of all. Great job. Thanks Janice for taking the time to comment. I'm glad you like it.

Thanks MajorMajor for this weeks challenge photo. I got the boat & tornado picture from morquefile. Officially it's called a water spout while it's on the water. But anyway I used layer mask to blend all the components together. Then I adjusted the Levels & Hue & Saturation sliders to get my results. EP-6 by Mike

Well I see we have some more. Bayla- Very nice creation you have made. That big smile, and the quote you used seem to go hand in hand. I know my wife if she goes more than a week without seeing the grandkids, she is all down in the dumps. Marianne- That is a very true statement. I like the sunrise, (or sunset) you used in your post. Good job! Sepiana- You have done a wonderful job on this tutorial. I love the backgrounds you have used.
I think I might try another one sometime this week. Since we have 2 weeks between new tutorials.

Bayla- Yes I suppose a layer mask would probably be a better option. You could definitely be more precise on what you wanted to keep and not. Sepiana- Very nice result. I love the floral texture you used. Reminds me of my grandma & grandpa's place. My grandpa hated it, and my grandma loved it. Marianne- I do hope you get a chance to try it.

Hi All, It's time for another chapter of the Creative Effects Challenge. This week I bring you a pretty cool tutorial. I think you will like it. It's brought to you by D&M Imaging Photo Lab It's a blending mode effect that I think has a lot of potential. And it could make some really nice cards, or stationary, or even a nice picture to hang on the wall. Here is the link to the video YouTube Video
This is my first take. And I'm sure I will be using this again.

Julie, if you can try the thumbnail in the other post and see if it works, I'll be glad! (I'm sure you were on the first page in the thread, so you didn't see my last post). Hi Marianne Yes, It's working well now, thanks. Thanks for being so gracious and bailing me out, as it were, by pointing out I was at the bottom of the first page when I posted, not appreciating the thread had got a page 2. Do you know, that is happening me a lot on this forum, in that I don't see that there is yet another page. I wonder if there is anything that can be done to make it more obvious? Maybe it's just me and I'm not 'looking' Anyway, yes, it's a lovely image. Thanks Marianne Hi Julie. I don't know what browser you are using, and I don't really know if it makes any difference, but the page # always shows at the top of the page for me. Just below the main banner. It will show <Prev> and the page # then <Next> The only time I don't see it is when I am writing a post on something. And when I scroll down, it still stays were I can see it. Hope that helps.
